About The Project

This kitchen renovation in Chesterfield was designed to replace an outdated, worn kitchen with a modern, practical space that better suited the clients’ day-to-day needs. From the initial survey, a key priority was improving storage while creating a fresh, contemporary finish using indigo kitchen doors, laminate worktops, and carefully selected updated fittings.

The brief also needed to accommodate the clients’ existing appliances, including the oven, hob, extractor hood and white goods, while incorporating their American-style fridge freezer into the new layout. Alongside the visual transformation, the project included upgraded lighting, ceiling preparation, and the addition of an integrated dishwasher to create a more complete and functional kitchen.

What makes this Chesterfield kitchen renovation stand out is the level of planning behind the clean, modern result. From bespoke housing for the retained fridge freezer to upgraded plumbing and electrics, every detail was carefully considered. The finished space combines practical problem-solving with a polished, high-quality finish — delivering a kitchen that looks great and works perfectly for every

The Process & The Kitchen Design & Build In Progress

The project was completed over 2 weeks, running from 27 April 2026 to 11 May 2026. The work began with the removal and disposal of the existing kitchen, followed by the first-fix electrical and plumbing upgrades needed to support the new layout and appliance arrangement.

The electrician completed the initial cabling for additional sockets and new downlights, while the plumbing was reconfigured with the hot and cold feeds and waste outlet rerouted to suit the revised kitchen plan. The existing ceiling was then overboarded and fully plastered, ensuring the room was properly prepared before the new kitchen installation began.

Once the kitchen was fitted, wall tiling was completed throughout the kitchen space to replace the old finishes and create a more cohesive overall look. The electrician then returned for the final-fix stage, fitting socket fronts, downlights and completing the final electrical connections. Trades involved in the project included the electrician, plumber, plasterer and kitchen installer.

There were no major disruptions reported during the installation, and the project progressed smoothly thanks to detailed planning and careful coordination at every stage. The clients particularly valued the clear communication throughout the process and were kept fully informed from start to finish, helping the whole experience feel well managed and reassuring.

The Results

The completed kitchen renovation in Chesterfield has transformed this home into a modern, organised and highly functional space. By combining improved storage, integrated appliances, upgraded lighting and a carefully managed installation, the project delivered both a clear visual upgrade and a practical improvement for everyday use.

The design was built around the Riva kitchen range in a matt finish, creating a clean, contemporary look, while the addition of indigo kitchen doors added a distinctive and modern feel to the space.

A key focus of this Chesterfield kitchen renovation was improving usability. Storage was increased throughout, and the layout was carefully designed to incorporate the client’s existing appliances — including their American-style fridge freezer. A bespoke housing unit was created on a feature wall, ensuring it fitted seamlessly within the overall design.

Additional upgrades included a new stainless steel sink and tap, an integrated dishwasher for added convenience, and laminate worktops with matching wall finishes to create a cohesive, practical workspace. Electrical and plumbing improvements were completed to support the new layout, alongside the installation of modern downlights to enhance lighting throughout the room.

The result is a kitchen that not only looks modern and stylish but is also tailored to how the client uses the space day-to-day — finished to a high standard with strong attention to detail throughout.

David has done a great job fitting our kitchen. From the first contact, he’s always communicated quickly and clearly, and has been reliable throughout, turning up when agreed. His work is excellent and he’s taken the time to tweak and perfect everything rather than rushing the job. He works neatly, keeps everything tidy, and the finished kitchen looks brilliant. The work included removing the old kitchen, fitting the new kitchen, tiling, plastering the ceiling, electrical work and gas work, all completed to a really high standard. I’d happily recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and skilled kitchen fitter.
