Mr & Mrs Wearing wanted to replace a dated wooden cathedral-style kitchen in Upper Newbold, Chesterfield, with a fresher and more practical room. The existing freestanding range-style cooker broke up the main run of cabinetry, while the surrounding finishes, flooring and decoration were all ready for renewal.
The brief was to create a cohesive U-shaped kitchen that made better use of the available space and simplified everyday cooking. Painted Caldaro cabinetry was selected alongside laminate worktops, a ceramic sink and a built-under oven with gas hob. An integrated fridge helped maintain the clean run of units, while the existing washing machine was relocated to the garage.
This was a complete room renovation rather than a simple cabinet replacement. David Lord Kitchens coordinated the kitchen, plumbing, electrical work and Gas Safe connection, as well as wall tiling on all three walls, LVT flooring, new skirting boards and decorating. The result would give the clients a more continuous layout, refreshed surfaces and a kitchen that felt considered from every angle.
