David Lord Kitchens visited to discuss the issues with the original kitchen and put together a new design, which the customers approved on the first submission. The price included removing the old kitchen, supplying the new units, worktops and appliances, tiling the walls, and all associated plumbing, electrics and gas work. After the rip-out, the plumbing was altered to suit the new layout and a leaking stop tap was replaced. First-fix electrics included a new ceiling light, then a Gas Safe engineer fitted the new black glass gas hob in place of the original ceramic one. The design used laminate worktops for a different look without the cost of quartz, white metro wall tiles in place of plastered walls, and black appliances throughout. The original measurements and design proved correct throughout, so nothing had to change once work was underway.
